AUGUST 13 – 19, 2017, WK 33

During each week of 2017, a (1) devotional consisting of a reading (or listening) from Scripture, a (2) New City Catechism question and answer (, a (3) primary scripture passage behind that Q&A and a scripture to consider in prayer, a (4) prayer project for the week, and then finally, a (5) song of the month, will be posted to and to the “Devotional” portion of the Reformation Church App. On each Sunday following the devotional, the New City Catechism Q&A and the song of the month (or a song from a previous month) will be used during morning worship service.

  1. Read

Or listen to Bible Reading for the day in the Reformation Church App (Jeremiah 4-10, Romans 5-10, Psalm 105-106:23, Proverbs 21:22-28)

Take a few minutes and watch this great overview of the first part of Romans:

  • 2. Memorize

Should those who have faith in Christ seek their salvation through their own works, or anywhere else?(Kidz Memory in Blue)

No, they should not, as everything necessary to salvation is found in Christ. To seek salvation through good works is a denial that Christ is the only Redeemer and Savior.

  • 3. Meditate

Galatians 2:16 Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
