Devotional

May 14-20, 2017, wk 20

During each week of 2017, a (1) devotional consisting of a reading (or listening) from Scripture, a (2) New City Catechism question and answer (newcitycatechism.com), a (3) primary scripture passage behind that Q&A and a scripture to consider in prayer, a (4) prayer project for the week, and then finally, a (5) song of the week, will be posted to queensreformation.org/devotional and to the “Devotional” portion of the Reformation Church App. On each Sunday following the devotional, the New City Catechism Q&A and the song of the week (or a song from a previous week) will be used during morning worship service.

  1. Read

Or listen to Bible Reading for the day in the Reformation Church App (2 Chronicles 17-23, Luke 4:38-8:39, Psalm 67-68, Proverbs 17:25-18:10).

  2. Memorize

Who is the Redeemer? (Kidz Memory in Blue)

The only Redeemer is the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, in whom God became man and bore the penalty for sin himself.

  3. Meditate

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

Acts 2:41-42, 44 Those who received [Peter’s] word were baptized…And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers…. And all who believed were together and had all things in common.

  4. Pray

“Ask that your church would also be devoted to spending the time together required to forge meaningful relationships. Thank God for the friendships you already have at church; then prayerfully think about who else you could seek to deepen your relationship with this month.” – Rachel Jones, 5 Things to Pray for Your Church, p. 20.

Pray for brothers and sisters in directory with last names starting with J, K, L.

  5. Sing

Behold the Lamb” is our song for the week:
