Private: Devotional

NOVEMBER 5-11, 2017, WK 45

During each week of 2017, a (1) devotional consisting of a reading (or listening) from Scripture, a (2) New City Catechism question and answer (, a (3) primary scripture passage behind that Q&A and a scripture to consider in prayer, a (4) prayer project for the week, and then finally, a (5) song of the month, will be posted to and to the “Devotional” portion of the Reformation Church App. On each Sunday following the devotional, the New City Catechism Q&A and the song of the month (or a song from a previous month) will be used during morning worship service.

  1. Read

Or listen to Bible Reading for the day in the Reformation Church App (Ezekiel 11-17, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy 1:1-14, Psalm 129, Proverbs 28:21-29:6).

Take a few minutes and watch this overview of 1 Timothy:

  • 2. Memorize

Is baptism with water the washing away of sin itself? (Kidz Memory in Blue)

No, only the blood of Christ and the renewal of the Holy Spirit can cleanse us from sin.

  • 3. Meditate

Luke 3:16: “John answered them all, saying, “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” – John the Baptizer
