Devotional

September 10-16, 2017, WK 37

During each week of 2017, a (1) devotional consisting of a reading (or listening) from Scripture, a (2) New City Catechism question and answer (newcitycatechism.com), a (3) primary scripture passage behind that Q&A and a scripture to consider in prayer, a (4) prayer project for the week, and then finally, a (5) song of the month, will be posted to queensreformation.org/devotional and to the “Devotional” portion of the Reformation Church App. On each Sunday following the devotional, the New City Catechism Q&A and the song of the month (or a song from a previous month) will be used during morning worship service.

  • 2. Memorize

How does the Holy Spirit help us? (Kidz Memory in Blue)

The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, comforts us, guides us, gives us spiritual gifts and the desire to obey God; and he enables us to pray and to understand God’s Word.

  • 3. Meditate

Ephesians 6:17–18 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.
