OCTOBER 29 – NOVEMBER 4, 2017, WK 44

During each week of 2017, a (1) devotional consisting of a reading (or listening) from Scripture, a (2) New City Catechism question and answer (newcitycatechism.com), a (3) primary scripture passage behind that Q&A and a scripture to consider in prayer, a (4) prayer project for the week, and then finally, a (5) song of the month, will be posted to queensreformation.org/devotional and to the “Devotional” portion of the Reformation Church App. On each Sunday following the devotional, the New City Catechism Q&A and the song of the month (or a song from a previous month) will be used during morning worship service.

  1. Read

Or listen to Bible Reading for the day in the Reformation Church App (Ezekiel 1-10, Colossians 1:23 – 4:18, 1 Thessalonians 1-5, Psalm 124-128, Proverbs 28:7-20)

Take a few minutes and watch this overview of 1 Thessalonians:

  • 2. Memorize

What is baptism? (Kidz Memory in Blue)

Baptism is the washing with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; it signifies and seals our adoption into Christ, our cleansing from sin, and our commitment to belong to the Lord and to his church.

  • 3. Meditate

Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Jesus
